67 Reunion Pictures restored

Paul Coleman, Kerry Lewis and Neil Sinclair are planning a 1958 re-union Saturday 4th October 2008

There will be a trip around the school in the afternoon and an informal dinner at the Old Boys in Oxford Street in the evening.

The reunion is also open to any 1957ers and 1959ers who would like to come along.

If you are a 1958er (or even 1957er and 1959ers who would like to join in) please let me know and I'll put you in touch

"There was one teacher at Wellingborough who really ignited my interest in words, and the use of words. He was my English teacher, Mr Cooksey, and he managed to transmit his passion for the written word in a way that was irresistible. He was also concerned to see that we could discern the difference between an accurate report in a newspaper and a loaded one. He urged us to read two newspapers rather than one. During its courageous opposition to the Suez invasion, he urged us to make the Observer one of those two papers. He made us more aware of the outside world. He introduced us to John Osborne and explained the significance of Jimmy Porter." - Sir David Frost

Spotted!

Bumped into Ron Bentley (Chemistry) playing the piano in The Tudor Gate Restuarant in Finedon on Saturday night. I hadn't realised he harboured such a talent. He told me he retired from teaching early (at the age of 51), and has taken to playing piano in hotel lounge
